Rajecké Teplice - Actractions
- SKALKY - 778 m above sea
level - a forested mountain with strange-shaped rocks and protected
flora northward from Rajecké Teplice. The instructive paths start at
the Veľká Fatra Hotel - on the parking place near the swimming-pool
Laura in Rajecké Teplice. Wearing sporting boots you can reach first
Skalky (stones) in twenty minutes and have a marvellous and
all-encompassing view of the valley below. To make you better oriented:
you can see Skalky when you stand at the lake or in the tennis courts
in Rajecké Teplice.
- SLNEČNÉ SKALY (Sunny Rocks)
- the National Natural Reserve with a highly varied complex of rocks
made of Choč dolomites. The specific flora of the area includes
numerous infrequent thermophilic species. It is accessible from Rajecké
Teplice in approximately 45min. A refreshment facility is available in
the near camp.
- MARTINSKÉ HOLE Highlands
- 1400 m above sea level - A number of paths leading to Malá Fatra Mts.
peaks start at a marvellous Kunerad castle. The Castle stands about 7
km from Rajecké Teplice. Accommodation and refreshment available (it
takes about 8 min by car from Rajecké Teplice to Kunerad Castle).
- VRÁTNA DOLINA Valley - VEĽKÝ ROZSUZEC Mt.
- 1,610 m above sea level - A mountain belonging to Malá Fatra Mts. has
a dolomite relief composed of a numerous rock forms. The area is known
for the great amount of rare and protected plant and animal species. It
offers a panoramic view of Malá Fatra mountains (you can take a trip
following the edge of mountains). The Veľký Rozsutec Mt. is considered
one of the most marvellous mountains in Slovakia. It is accessible from
Vrátna dolina valley following marked paths. It is a whole-day trip.
(appr. 40 min by car from Rajecké Teplice).
- LIETAVA CASTLE -
The ruin
of the second largest castle in Slovakia built after 1241. It belonged
to the Balašovci’s family, to Matúš Čák Trenčiansky and at the end of
14th and the beginning of 15th century to the king Sigismond. Later
different noble families owned the castle and the possession consisted
of more than 30 villages including Rajecké Teplice. The castle offers a
wonderful panoramic view of environs. The routes of ascend lead from
Rajecké Teplice through Skalky - a half-day trip from Lietava or
Lietavská Svinná villages (it does not take more than that 1 hour)(It
takes appr. 8 min by car from Rajecké Teplice to Lietava/Lietavská
Svinná)
- BUDZOGÁŇ (Mace) - A
mace-shaped rock. The marked routes of ascend start from Rajecké
Teplice - it is a half-day trip. From the Zbyňov village the rock is
accessible in an hour and a half.
- SÚĽOVSKÉ SKALY Rocks -
The National Nature Reserve with paleogene Súľov rocks formatting an
interesting landforms in the form of rock windows, gates and caves.
Various plant and animal species can be found there including those
protected ones. We recommend taking an instructive path starting in the
Súľov village. The first touristic mark can be found at the parking
place near the cottage area and the path includes the natural landforms
and the Súľov Castle with an attractive panoramic view. (max. a 2-hour
trip prom the parking-place in Súľov). You can start the trip from the
Podhorie village trekking along the marked path reminding a Christian
tradition - (the stations of the Cross). The end of the routes offers
the possibility to follow along the marked path and enjoy an extra view
including Havrania Skala rock (Raven Rock) (not more than 1 hour 15 min
uphill from the Podhorie village) and the background panorama of
Súľovské skaly rocks,(appr. 25 min by car from Rajecké Teplice to the Súľov village, 15 min. to the Podhorie village)
- KĽAK Mt. - 1,352 m above
sea level - This National Nature Reserve forms a rocky cap of the
mountain with unique limy soil flora on the top of the mountain and
with a wonderful panoramic view of the environs. The mountain is
accessible from the parking place at the Kľak Motorest situated at the
uphill end of the road ( 2.15 hours),(appr. 30 min by car to the parking place from Rajecké Teplice)
