A world known health resort famous due to its unique springs. The springs come out from beautiful nature. The novelist Mór Jókai called the health resort " The pearl of the Karpaty mountains ." The spa lies in the western part of Slovakia in a picturesque, quiet valley, surrounded by a chain of coniferous as well as deciduous forests of Strážov mountains. The romantic surroundings of the spa offers its guests quietness, ease and recovery, its fauna and flora contribute a lot to feel well.

Leisure and culture life
Trenèianske Teplice offers the whole-year-round a rich culture life. The center of it is the concert hall in the spa park. The most important culture event is the "Summer music festival" with an international participation. There is also a new international Art film festival which was visited by such personalities as Franco Nero, Gina Lolobrigida, Geraldine Chaplin, Alberto Sordi etc. The chamber music concerts, operas, operettaes attract many visitors every year. There are also some exhibitions and lectures as well as films at the cinema "Prameò" . There are also a catholic and an evangelic church in the town. Not only the spa town but the whole Trenèín region is a center of tourist traffic with a lot of historical sights, castles, museums, cinemas, sport centers etc.



Sports posibilities
The spa has a variety for sports and hiking at disposal. There are tennis courts and minigolf as well.

Beyond the compact old centre is a long park wending its way two kilometres up the valley. Near a lake halfway up is a sporting complex where visitors can play tennis and miniature golf, or rent a bike for 5 EUR a day.

The steep hills surrounding the town are veined with an extensive system of hiking trails. Across the street from the train station is a map showing three different routes that range in length from 20 minutes to an hour and a half. Winding past caves and lakes, the trail first shoots up a steep hill, then flattens before dropping abruptly back into town. For those who stick to the longer paths, there are several side trails leading to look out points along the stony ridge.

There is also possibility to take flights in small jets over the surrounding country. In winter ski lovers can utilise several ski resorts in local mountains.

Iphigenie de Castries saw a plastic model of a luxurious Turkisch bath on the world exibition in Paris. The model was designed by a Bohemian architect Frantisek Schmoranz. A Turkisch bath Hammam was already built before, according to this model, for Egyptian viceroy Ismail. Hammam means bath in Arabic. The cabins are decorated with nice white-blue tiles with initials of the lady possessor (IC).It was the most expensive bath in the spa in the 19th century. Nowaday it is used for resting after taking bath and for massages.
