Even the ancient Celts knew about the healing effects of the hot spring at Bešeňová, but it was really put into use only when a thermal swimming pool with a relaxation centre was built in this village not far from Liptovský Mikuláš.

People come here throughout the year on account of Bešeňová´s geothermal water, which gushes out of the ground from a depth of 1987 metres and contains an unusual amount of lithium. Its tempoerature / originally 60, 5 ´C/ is regulated according to the time of the year, in order to have a pleasant, refreshing and beneficial effect on the organism. Bathing in it relieves mental stress, asthmatic, urological and gynaecological problems, as well providing relaxation after a strenuous day skiing, hiking or other sports.

Outdoors the Thermal Park has a water toboggan and other amusing attractions for children, while adults can enjoy games of spaceball, volleyball, Petango and chess with giant wooden figures. the interior offers whirpool baths, a sauna and relaxation massage. In the ´´wet´´ pool bar you can quench your thirst with a wide selection of drinks. Within the grounds oif the Thermal Park there is a hotel and a guest house, while further accommodation with a total of 2000 beds is to be found in the village of Bešeňová.
